Chempedia on Twitter

Although Twitter has been used for a variety of purposes, it's primarily a messaging service. It turns out that Twitter can broadcast messages from both humans and other computer programs.

One of the things that makes Chempedia unique is the way it exposes, in real time, the data being created by its users. As of yesterday, part of this datastream started being captured by Twitter.

The Chempedia Twitter Stream creates a tweet every time a new substance registration is approved. If you've registered a substance and want to know when it becomes approved, you can now do so through Twitter (I'll be posting on another way tomorrow). Following the link on the Twitter page takes you to the Substance page on Chempedia.

I'm looking at a number of ways to make Chempedia more useful through integration with other Web services. If you have an idea for integration, please drop me a line.
