Faster 2D Structure Image Rendering with Chemcaster

Chemists using applications that work with chemical structures expect those structures to be rendered in graphical format. Chemcaster, the cheminformatics Web services platform, makes it easy to render 2D chemical structure images for your users. Recent upgrades to the system now make that rendering even faster thanks to caching.

There's nothing to install or do in order to make use of the more efficient rendering. Simply use RESTful URLs to inline link images on your own pages. For example, the images below use inline linking to directly embed chemical structure images in this page. Clicking on each image gives the URL used to generate it.

Edit August 12, 2009: Inline image linking has been temporarily disabled. Instead, images can be created through a secure and fully RESTful Web API.

Inline image linking will soon be affected by changes to the way Collections can be shared. Only those Collections designated as 'exportable' will be eligible for inline image linking. This will be an option turned off by default, but which can be activated if desired. The changes are designed to eliminate structure read capability by unauthorized viewers.
