Major Chemcaster Maintenance Complete

Chemcaster scheduled maintenance is now complete. This was a major update that included:

  • Support for multi-component Substances as the primary resource used by Registries.
  • Much more detailed API documentation, including sample requests/responses for every method allowed on every resource.
  • Addition of an API version stamp for better integration of clients.
  • Exposure of substructure search pagination through a new Execution resource for more efficient structure-based queries.

Unfortunately, these changes have now rendered obsolete the current versions of the recently-released Chemcaster PHP and Ruby clients. We anticipate updates for both clients shortly.

Chemcaster enables the rapid creation of chemistry-focussed websites. It supports compound registration, exact- and substructure search, and dynamic 2D structure image creation. All resources can be manipulated through both a browser-based administrative interface and a RESTful Web API.

We're looking for developers interested in testing Chemcaster with their next project. If the idea of streamlining the creation of rich chemistry websites sounds interesting, please consider requesting an invitation to create an account.
